Contra Amsterdam
A special night bringing two exceptional singers to touch your soul all evening long.
At 21:00, Laura Dooge opens the night with timeless songs from the Great American Songbook, translating the romance of the past into the present. You might just forget these songs were written in the 1930s — we still have “a crush on you” and sometimes smoke a little too much “at the end of a love affair.” Backed by an incredible band and guest soloists, she revives the spirit of classic jazz clubs with warmth and elegance, performing music by Gershwin, Berlin and Ellington. A cum laude graduate of the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, she has performed at leading venues and was awarded at the Laren Jazz Award.
From 23:00 onwards, resident artist JAÏNDA takes over. A singer-songwriter blending soul, R&B, pop and jazz, her music explores themes of self-discovery, vulnerability and strength. With her powerful voice and love for big band arrangements, she captivates audiences and leaves a lasting impression.
