RISOTTO is a Rotterdam-based trio pushing the

boundaries of futuristic funk, modern jazz and

electronic improvisation. What began as a modern

jazz quartet at the Conservatory of Rotterdam,

transformed into a unique and smooth sounding

trio using analog synthesizers, electric pianos, bass

guitar, drums and samples. Ever since 2022,

RISOTTO has been writing and performing original

material extensively.

Their sound — described by live critics as “Synth-

Funk-Bop” — blends deep-pocket rhythms,

forward-thinking harmonies, bold electronics and

improvisation that can shift directions in seconds.

Influences like Knower, Herbie Hancock, Robert

Glasper Jacob Mann, Vels Trio, Thundercat and

Hiatus Kaiyote are present, yet the band brings a

raw Rotterdam edge and a strong appetite for

sonic experimentation that makes their identity

unmistakably their own.

THIS IS A SYNTHERVENTION is the name of their

debut EP which will be released on January 31st

2026. The release shows will merge their energetic

live approach with analog synth layers, intricate

rhythm architecture and a groove language that is

both danceable and musically adventurous.

To support the release, the band is planning an

extensive European tour, aimed at clubs and

festivals that embrace next-generation jazz and

forward-leaning groove music.

With new material already in development and a

constant drive to explore, RISOTTO continues to

expand their musical universe — always situated

between acoustic and electronic, between

improvisation and production, between precision

and pure playfulness.
